Our Next Project

Our next project is a Fairytale Garden Party where we'll be taking photos and having a great time.

If you know of anyone who would like to participate, please feel free to contact us.  The more the merrier!

Busy... Busy... Busy!

Whew!  It's been a while since we have made any entries.  Sorry about that.  We've been going here, there and everywhere!

Throughout September, we've been working with the Youth Centre on the RAF Alconbury Base creating badges and portraits of the staff and children for various purposes.

At the end of September, we had a photoshoot at Werrington Children's Centre:

Then we had a session for Senior pictures as well as a family session that same weekend.  If you'd like to see the photos, please see our Facebook page: HouseMartin Photos.  Some photos have been kept private to protect the innocent.  Facebook allows us to customise the settings which is a really nice feature.

If you would like to see a fuller range of our photos, please ask and we can show you some of our portfolio.

Challenge 9/24

This hour's theme is 'Unwind'

Scott & I both love Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream - Cookie Dough is our fav.  So, both of our pictures are featuring it this go 'round.

Here's mine:
And here's Scott's - baby in bed, ice cream, movie, and feet up...

Onto Challenge

Challenges 7 & 8

Sorry, fell a little bit behind... dinner & bedtime come before blogging I'm afraid.

So - Challenge 7 was Splash of Colour

I didn't have a lot of time, or creativity going on this one... I walked into the kitchen and thought about water & how my Fairy liquid is red.  Hmm... Splash & Colour.

Scott was on the phone with an unhappy mother of an employee, so he didn't have much creativity either.  Here's his:

 Challenge 8 - Defying Gravity.

Lilly has the most amazing core muscles ever... Here's her latest fete:

We went two doors down & asked one of the kids to Superman on the trampoline.  They all thought we were mad, but were willing... Thank goodness.  Thanks Leo!

On to #9!

Challenge 6/24

Woot!  We're really starting to get the hang of this, and this challenge's theme is 'Frame It'

I went for a window frame outlooking to the church across the road:

Scott went for the frame within the frame, within the frame...

Challenge 5/24

Whew.  Well, the competition is really high as there are a lot of really creative/think outside the box type people out there and they've entered some really cool pictures!

Anyway, the next clue/theme is 'Best Seat in the House'

Challenge 4/24

The theme this go 'round is 'Turn the Camera on You.'

I really wish I had a really long, flow-y skirt so I could twirl and get a pic of that... but I don't and I was running out of time & camera battery, so I need to act quickly.

Here's what I got:

Looks like Scott also did a self portrait...

Challenge 3/24

Okay, so 3 down, 21 left to go.  This time the theme was 'Instant.'

Thankfully, I had just put the little one down to sleep so I could pop over to the Church across the road (with the baby monitor in hand, of course) and take a picture of a gravestone... a man had been killed in action in 1915 at the age of 21.  'Gone in an instant' was the title of this one.

This is Scott's photo:

He called it 'Happiness... in an instant'

Competition 2/24

The next theme was 'Amazement.'

It's quite tricky to get a look of amazement, especially when you have a time constraint!

All my pics may be of my sweet little girl because she and I are at home and there's only 60 minutes to each hour... that's not a lot of time to think of something and then get the picture uploaded...

Anyway, here's my photo:
I titled it: Look Who's Really Behind the Curtain with a caption: Whoa.  I See the Light!

Not sure what Scott did... will upload it as soon as I find it.

Let the Competition Begin!

First theme given in the challenge was 'Time"

Here's what I came up with:

I called it 'Lunch time' - since I was feeding Lilly at the time... and it was time for her to eat.

Scott was at work, but managed to upload this photo:

He called it 'Right Twice a Day' since the clock doesn't work anymore...

24 Hour Photo Challenge

Well, I'm not sure if we'll be staying up for 24 hours, but we'll enter as many photos as we can.  The prizes look cool, and it will be a lot of fun regardless.  So, here it goes!  We'll post them here as well so you can see what we've come up with.  Wish us luck! :)  If you'd like to join in, here's the Facebook link:

Exciting Things Going On...

We've just bought some studio equipment and will soon need some models to help work out the kinks and understand how to use everything.  This will be the equivalent to a free photo session!  If you are interested, watch this space for dates & times...

We'll also be taking photos at Werrington Children's Centre sometime in September.  More details to come on that as well.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Photo Walk

We're going to be putting together a monthly photo walk for those interested in increasing their skills or looking to have some fun with other photographers.  Location, date, and time will be announced at a later date.

It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or professional photographer, whether you have a small, pocket-size camera or a professional one, a photo walk can be a lot of fun and increase your skills.
